Greetings chums
Did anyone get to see the wonderfully hypnotic and beautiful Daughters of Gaia last night? Wow! The ladies - and gent of the digeridoo - where exceptional. Talk about creating a trance like state. I loved the lady with the golden wings - it was great to see an act put on a show and enjoy themselves.
Take away the Pagan theme and you are still left with beautifully crafted pop songs. Reminded me of those LOVE LOVE LOVE moments back in the late 80's - if you are old enough to remember ; )
The music was totally spellbinding (no pun intended). You could not help but be drawn into Gaia's magical world and the mix of traditional and Gaia's lyrics truly made for a ritual experience. If you've had that high during ritual and then that "time stands still" moment then you know where I am coming from.
Music plays a monsterous part in my life there are not many bands that can truly take me out of my body - these ladies did just that and I would like to thank them all - if only in person with a large bar of chocolate *evil grin* - for putting on such a brilliant show.
Witchfest Team - if you read this then please invite the Daughters of Gaia back - I for one would like to see them play a longer set at a Witchfest event and possibly be moved to a later slot as they would seriously tear the place down - with all that release of energy the Fairfield Halls would be see from Mars. THEY CREATE A REAL WITCHY EXPERIENCE.
If the ladies read this sorry for not getting out of my seat and getting jiggy with it but I couldn't - I was totally under your spell not to mention a naughty little school boy when pointed out ; )
Hope everyone had a great time.
